Chairperson's Corner

As I complete my term as the International Section Council chairperson, I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and engagement in 2024. I am also delighted to congratulate Maria Zou and Jasmine Lan as the new chairperson and vice chairperson. In addition, we would like to congratulate and welcome our three new section council members:
- Erica Chan, FSA, CERA
- Roberto Gomez, ASA
- Si Xie, FSA, CERA, FCIA
They have all officially started their terms since the 2024 ImpACT meeting.
This year has been filled with achievements. We offered webcasts; co-sponsored a research project on offshore reinsurance jurisdiction; co-sponsored the 2024 Actuarial Research Conference, the Asia-Pacific Annual Symposium, and various in-person networking events in Asia and North America. Our membership also grew significantly—a testament to the increasing interest in international actuarial topics.
In 2024, we have had the pleasure of meeting many of you at different SOA in-person or virtual events. Thank you for your continued participation. As we look ahead to 2025, we remain committed to providing you with the latest insights, professional development, and ways to connect with your peers around the world. We look forward to seeing many of you in the coming year.
